Bicycles That Measure Growth

Spring has sprung and the bikes are out!  The first thing that comes out when the driveway shows signs of melting snow: Bicycles!

What I notice right away, once they start riding, is how much our kids have grown. Kids grow out of their clothes but in my experience that is more gradual. They put their bikes away in late fall and they come back out in March and all of a sudden the bike has either shrunken or the child has grown a foot!

Grace looks like a giant on her shrunken bike. Off to the bike store soon...

This is the parking lot for bikes at our bus stop... the end of our lane way. Once they get off the bus, the drive back to the house is quick!

  1. When Alex, Jean & I were on tour to Aunt Anne's, they were talking about their bicycles and whether or not Jean would need her training wheels. She told Alex that she wouldn't need them this year and she would get Daddy to take them off.... OR maybe she would get a new bike. It was priceless to eavesdrop on this conversation... so serious about play!
